WILD CROPS: Why is certification of wild crops important? More than 400,000 tones of medicinal and aromatic plants are traded annually, with around 80% of the species harvested from the wild.

Almost 70,000 species are involved, many of them are in danger of over-exploitation and even extinction through over-collection and habitat loss.

TRAFFIC, the wildlife trade monitoring network, works to ensure that trade in wild plants and animals is not a threat tothe conservation of nature.

We actively support certified wild crop organic harvests as a means of conserving  or native plants.

There is a lot of information on our blog about wild crop certification.  We are working on several project to assist landowners with certifying their lands wild crops.  If you are interested please send us an email: wild@wildcrops.com
